This collection of rubber wares are composed from polyurethane, a derivative of petroleum which comes from ancient organic matter. Formally crafted into an array of vessels, each one showcasing a naturally occurring color dictated by the material. In this right, the material is uv sensitive, washable, and in accordance with California’s Proposition 65. The vessels can hold water and thus offer an abundance of uses.
The form of the Gleba Urn reflects the necrogenic essence inherent in the material, and their shapes recall both the finality and the continuity that the material suggests. Through this work I aim to immortalize the quiet persistence, the spinal thrum of decay and rebirth.
